Bullet TLCS Teacher Leader Professional Learning for Collaboration

This course is for Davenport Schools Lead Teachers, TILTS, Coaches only.
Note: Administrators should register for PLC/TLCS for Administrators

When acquiring new skills and behaviors, there are four primary ways learning is presented: through presentation, modeling, practice with low-risk feedback and on-going coaching. When on-going coaching is present, there is an 80% chance that new learning will be applied in the classroom as compared to a 10% chance when presentation and/or modeling is used and a 15% when practice and low-risk feedback is used.

Collaboration Cycles can provide teachers with on-going coaching as they plan for implementation of learning, set student-centered goals, receive low-risk feedback on implementation and student learning, and reflect on implementation and student learning. These Collaborative Cycles and an understanding of best coaching practices for working with adult learners is the foundation for this course.

Participants will work toward transitioning from light to heavy coaching, gain confidence in leadership roles, set goals and reflect on teacher leadership standards and develop a network among leaders and teachers.

Registration closes 10/1/16.
