    Audience: Special Education Directors, Supervisors, Coordinators, Case Managers and Related Service Providers

    Instructor: Jordan Bullinger

    This session will help attendees understand how artificial intelligence is changing the landscape of special education, while recognizing the legal, ethical, and instructional benefits and risks of using AI. Participants will learn common dos and don’ts for implementing AI in special education, including protecting student privacy, avoiding overreliance on AI-generated language, documenting specially designed instruction, maintaining human oversight, and ensuring IEPs, 504 plans, and instructional decisions remain individualized. Attendees will leave with practical guidance for responsible AI use, tips for navigating common SDI pitfalls, and awareness of recent legal updates affecting compliance with federal and state laws and the use of AI.
