Tier 2 for Social, Emotional and Behavioral Needs: Developing the Advanced Tiers~ June 2026

June 10 & 11, 2026    8:15-3:45

Location: Young Adult Services, 12360 Felch Street Holland, MI 49424

Instructors: Jennifer Nelson & Kate Oster

Audience: Tier 2 or Advanced Tier Teams supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students. Teams should include an administrator. Please attend with at least two team members to make the most of time given for planning conversations.

This training will prepare Tier 2 or Advanced Tiers teams to effectively support the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students requiring Tier 2 support. Participants will delve into essential system features vital for streamlining processes, enabling schools to efficiently support 15-20% of their student body. Examples include:

  • Meeting agenda and procedures focused on data-based decision making

  • Identifying and matching students to appropriate interventions

  • Establishing data decision rules to guide changes to interventions

  • Building a comprehensive and sustainable array of interventions 

  • Measuring fidelity

  • How to progress monitor 

Teams will be given an installation plan to guide decision making beyond this training date. 

Additional training opportunities are available to focus on the intervention practices, such as Check-In, Check-Out, Self-Monitoring, Behavior Contracts, Meaningful Work, Social Academic Instructional Groups (SAIG), and Class Pass. Please refer back to the registration system for these offerings.

In an effort to save paper, please bring a laptop or tablet to this training to view presentation materials.
