Nerd Night: Critical Thinking Through Tabletop Games

Tabletop games have a long history of helping children and adults communicate and connect to each other in a low stakes but very real way. They have also been shown to increase critical thinking. The REMC Association of Michigan has resources for using games in the classroom (this can be found by clicking here). This means that all teachers from REMC districts have a selection of tabletop games they can check out for free to use in their classroom. These sessions will provide time to try these games out, as well as planning time to incorporate them into the classroom. Pizza and Snacks will be provided by the REMC Association. Each event will run until 6:00, and participants can earn SCECHs if they arrive any time before 5:00.
