MAASE Paraeducator Boot Camp Level 2 builds on the foundational learning from Level 1 and provides paraeducators with practical strategies they can use to better support students and classroom teams. Through online modules, participants will strengthen their understanding of instructional strategies, inclusive and assistive technology, visual and communication supports, AAC, collaboration, and approaches for understanding and supporting student behavior. During the in-person training, participants will apply their learning through discussion, reflection, group activities, and student-based scenarios. The training includes restorying behavior, the PTRR framework of Prevent, Teach, Reinforce, and Respond, vulnerable decision points, and the development of support plans that promote student engagement, regulation, communication, independence, and success. Participants must complete both the online modules and the in-person training to earn the MAASE Paraeducator Boot Camp Level 2 badge.
