Every student deserves a learning environment rooted in safety, dignity, and respect. This interactive professional development course equips educators with the mindsets, frameworks, and practical tools necessary to dramatically reduce--and ultimately eliminate--the use of seclusion and restraint. Rather than simply removing a tool from your toolkit, this training replaces it with a more humane, effective, and sustainable approach to a behavior, fostering a school culture where educators feel confident, students feel safe, and learning thrives. Seclusion and Restraint Training designed to help staff understand required procedures and maintain full compliance. The session will include an overview of state law, a review of guidance from the Michigan Department of Education, and step-by-step direction on how to document required information in our system.
This training supports CGRESD’s commitment to safe, well-regulated learning environments where student dignity and staff clarity remain at the forefront.
