Behavior Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) Training 26.27

Program Narrative – Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management (BTAM)  The Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management (BTAM) training provides participants with the foundational knowledge and applied skills necessary to identify, assess, and manage behaviors of concern that may pose a threat to school safety.

This full-day session, facilitated in partnership with the Michigan State Police and Raptor Technologies, equips school-based teams with research-based strategies and tools aligned with federal and state guidelines for preventing targeted school violence.  Through a combination of direct instruction, case studies, and interactive tabletop exercises, participants learn how to recognize early warning signs, gather and analyze information across multiple sources, and develop intervention and management plans to mitigate potential risks. The training emphasizes a multidisciplinary, trauma-informed, and non-punitive approach to threat assessment that prioritizes early intervention, collaboration, and student support.
