Trauma Informed Approaches to Classroom Management


In this class you will learn about childhood trauma and how it can affect student learning. You will learn about different tools to help students self-regulate which can create a positive classroom environment. This is a hands-on class where you will explore tools such as yoga, mindfulness, social/emotional games, and trauma releasing activities. You will explore different ways to create a “Take a Break” spot and we will give you classroom time and materials to create your own plan. This class will be taught by Becky Wundram, a classroom teacher and yoga instructor as well as Anne Uphoff, a school counselor and yoga instructor. They will be joined by a guest presenter Eunju Choi, certified TRE Provider (Tension and Trauma Release Exercise).
