Writers’ Workshop: Teacher & Students as Writers

This course will engage teachers in thinking about themselves as writers in order to enhance their instruction for students. We must ignite a passion for writing—across all content areas-- in our students in order to help them develop into successful communicators for now and the future. We will engage in a (sometimes messy!) deep study or inquiry of genres and modes of writing to discover craft moves that authors deliberately make in order to increase impact of their writing. This study will be followed by participants writing “under the influence” of authors studied.
