NIET Best Practice Instructional Rubric Observation


This is an advanced graduate level course for leaders in the TLCS (Teacher Leadership & Compensation System) in the Davenport Community School District.The National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Best Practice Instructional Rubric Observer is designed from more than 10 years of research-based strategies for teacher leaders to use to elevate instruction. The course includes procedures, rubrics, and detailed explanation and application of the observation process. Topics of the class include: a deep understanding of the NIET Best Practice Rubric, capturing evidence through scripting, scoring procedures, pre-conference strategies, post-conference strategies including identifying reinforcements and refinements, goal setting, and follow-up supports. Application of these methods will be used by leaders throughout the district through the Teacher Leadership and Compensation System.

Time: 8:00-3:30, 1.5 hours for lunch
Location: Mississippi Bend AEA, Bettendorf
Registration closes 8/1/16.

In addition to class time, there will be 30+ hours of outside of class work. Both sessions will complete the work by 9/9/16.

Cost:
$120 for 1 Drake EDMA graduate credit
$40 for 1 Relicensure credit
no cost for Audit/no credit option
