Welcome to the AT Institute!
This is one of five courses designed around the topic of assistive technology and access to reading and writing.
The focus of this course is writing and assistive technology. This course will provide teachers and AEA staff with information and practice around the use of a five-part Guidance for determining assistive technology to support writing. Participants will learn to identify students who may benefit from writing AT and to make appropriate AT device trial selections based on the student, task and environment. Data-based decisions related to AT device selections will be discussed. Hands-on activities and demonstration of a range of AT for writing support will be completed and provided.
The five courses are designed as a combination of face to face and activities/assignments outside of the face to face time. There is one full day of attendance for each course. If you take the course for credit or CEU’s, you will need to attend the session and complete the activities/assignments as indicated in the course syllabus.
