Welcome to the AT Institute!
This is one of five courses designed around the topic of assistive technology and access to reading and writing.
The focus of this course is accessible instructional materials (AIM) and the 5 Step Process for AIM. This is the first of a five-part a la carte selection of courses designed around the topic of assistive technology and access to reading and writing. This course will provide teachers and AEA staff with a systematic approach to identifying students who require consideration for Accessible Instructional Materials (AIM). Review of the research related to the need for and provision of AIM accommodations will be provided. A five-step, data-based process for determination of students who require reading accommodations will be presented. Assistive technology devices for reading will be reviewed.
The five courses are designed as a combination of face to face and activities/assignments outside of the face to face time. There is one full day of attendance for each course. If you take the course for credit or CEU’s, you will need to attend the session and complete the activities/assignments as indicated in the course syllabus.
