Participants in the class must have access to a student or students who demonstrate some behavior problems.This class is based on the book, Managing Noncompliance and Defiance in the Classroom, by Geoff Colvin. This class will assist educators in determining the reasons and rationale behind the ways students behave. Class members will learn to analyze student behavior through the use of the functional behavior plan. Emphasis will be placed on transferring the information from the functional behavioral plan to creating a meaningful behavior intervention plan for children.
Students will need to purchase text at their local book store or at Amazon.com before the class begins. Book title: Managing Noncompliance and Defiance in the Classroom, by Geoff Colvin.
