Strengthen your approach to TDA instruction through a 2-day engaging hands-on learning experience. Participants will experience a model TDA lesson and identify instructional red flags associated with an over reliance on formulaic strategies, including RACES. The training will emphasize the essential role of analysis in developing strong TDA responses and explore practical strategies for helping students move beyond formulaic writing to thoughtfully analyze evidence, make meaningful connections, and develop insightful responses to texts. Cost: 25.00 Act 48: 12 hours

Learner Outcomes

- Identify the key components of effective TDA instruction through participation in a model TDA lesson.
- Recognize instructional red flags that can hinder students’ development of TDA skills.
- Analyze student essays using the TDA Learning Progressions to identify strengths, needs, and next instructional steps.
- Develop a TDA instructional plan aligned to student needs and the school-year curriculum.
