    Student Assistance Program (SAP) K–12 Training

    This two-day training provides the standardized Pennsylvania Student Assistance Program (SAP) K–12 training required for individuals serving on a school SAP team. Participants will develop an understanding of the purpose, structure, and core functions of SAP, including the team-based process for identifying student concerns, gathering information, engaging families, connecting students with appropriate school and community supports, and monitoring follow-up. The training also emphasizes collaboration, confidentiality, and the role SAP teams play in addressing barriers that may interfere with student learning and school success.

    Trainers: Gary Grozier, Mike Maize, Nich Gallinot, and Stephanie Colvin-Roy

    Format: Two-day in-person interactive training

    Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. both days

    Lunch: 30-minute lunch on your own

    Cost: $350 per participant

    Act 48: Yes, 13 hrs

    Act 45: Yes, 14 hrs for eligible school and system leaders following completion of the required SAP Fidelity Checklist.

    Current and prospective K–12 Student Assistance Program team members

     
    Learner Outcomes
    • Describe the purpose and structure of Pennsylvania’s Student Assistance Program.
    • Identify the roles and responsibilities of SAP team members.
    • Explain the SAP process and the role of collaboration in supporting students.
    • Apply SAP practices and procedures as an effective member of a school SAP team.
