This training session will provide school-based multidisciplinary teams with an understanding of the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) model and will give them a process for managing threats within their program.

Act 45 Credit Requirements
Participants seeking Act 45 credit must complete 3.5 hours of job-embedded coursework in addition to the 6.5-hour in-person CSTAG Threat Assessment Training. Completion of both the training and the job-embedded assignments is required to receive the full 10 hours of Act 45 credit.
Pre-Training Assignment (2 Hours)
Prior to the training, participants will read Chapter 1 of the CSTAG Manual, What Is Threat Assessment?, and complete a brief written reflection. Chapter 1 will be provided to participants before the training. The reflection will focus on how threat assessment is currently implemented in their school and how those practices align with CSTAG principles. Participants will identify strengths, areas for growth, and key takeaways from the reading. Detailed instructions for the reflection assignment will also be provided prior to the training.
Post-Training Assignment (1.5 Hours)
Following the training, participants will select and complete one of the following activities:
- CSTAG Protocol Alignment & Review – Review current threat assessment procedures with the school’s multidisciplinary team and identify areas for implementation or improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication Plan – Develop a communication plan that explains the threat assessment process and the role of the multidisciplinary team to students, staff, families, or other stakeholders.
- Code of Conduct Policy Crosswalk – Review school discipline and safety policies to identify opportunities to better align them with the CSTAG framework.
All pre-training and post-training assignments must be completed and submitted to receive the full 10 hours of Act 45 credit.
