CE-CERT

An introduction to the CE-CERT model, which equips professionals in trauma exposed, or high stress environments with five practical skills to manage stress and prevent burnout during the workday: experiential engagement, reducing rumination, conscious narrative, reducing emotional labor, and parasympathetic recovery. The CE-CERT approach uses micro interventions, rather than just after-hours self-care to regulate emotions and meaningfully enhance job satisfaction.

Planting Seeds of Self-Care
This interactive session invites paraeducators to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with their own well-being. Participants will plant seeds while exploring simple, sustainable self-care practices that support mental wellness. Just like plants need consistent care to grow, we’ll consider what we each need to feel grounded, supported, and resilient in our daily work. Attendees will leave with a planted seed and a personal intention for nurturing their own growth

Practical Tools to help Emotional Learning
This hands-on breakout session equips para-educators with a practical toolkit for supporting student emotional regulation through labeling feelings, visual schedules, and movement-based strategies. Participants will explore how technology, timers, and social narratives build the predictability and self-awareness necessary to de-escalate "big feelings" in the classroom. The session concludes with a "Make & Take" lab where you will create your own sensory bottle, stress ball, or mindful coloring resource to use for your own emotional regulation needs or with your students!
