    TRIG’s Device Purchasing professional development September 2017 courses

    Each course is 3 weeks. There is a 4th week when the instructor completes assignments evaluations for those participants wanting course credit.  6-9 SCECH credits are available.

    Each course requires 6 or 9 hours of total work. They breakdown into two parts:

    Part One • Complete the assigned pre-reading and reflections as preparation for the 1st webinar. Approximate time: 1 hour • Attend the 1st Webinar: Either attend the live session OR watch the recorded session. Reflect on the content and dialog. Approximate time: 1 hour • Complete the Post-Webinar 1 Assignment: Work is job-embedded. Approximate time: 1 hour

    Part Two • Complete the assigned pre-reading and reflections as preparation for the 2nd webinar. Approximate time: 1 hour • Attend the 2nd Webinar: Either attend the live session OR watch the recorded session. Reflect on the content and dialog. Approximate time: 1 hour • Complete the Post-Webinar 2 Assignment: Work is job-embedded. Approximate time: 1 hour

Timeline:
Sections of this virtual course will take place regularly between February and June of 2015. The course will begin and conclude within a three-week period and will require approximately six (6) hours to complete.
Week I Dell consultant emails course overview and instructions to access resources located on
Week II Dell consultant facilitates peer response to the assessment plans posted on the LMS.
Week III Dell consultant facilitates a one-hour webinar on Google apps for Education in Chrome a learning management system to TRIG coordinator for participant distribution. Enrollees review information on Michigan state standards on how Apps and Extensions can support a learning community and a collaborative culture among students and professionals Dell consultant facilitates a one-hour webinar seminar Applying Google Apps for Education using Chrome.

Assignment A: Enrollees peruse Google Apps. They post to the course LMS their plan for development and implementation of these apps in their classrooms. The Dell consultant assesses enrollee submissions for Assignment A in accordance to the rubric provided at the outset of the course. Enrollees develop and implement their plan for applying Google apps in their classrooms. Dell consultant facilitates up to three (3) one-hour webinars for educators. These webinars will serve as the facilitator’s ‘office hours’ for the benefit of enrollees who wish to pose questions or share ideas. No new material will be introduced during these optional sessions for reflection and data conferencing.
Assignment B: Enrollees post an overview of their Google apps assessment. Basic information regarding the nature of the assessment, the range of student response and the educator’s reflection on next steps via the course LMS. Enrollees complete Assignment B within four (4) days of the second one-hour webinar. Dell consultant assesses educator submissions to the course LMS in accordance to the assignment rubric provided at the outset of the course. A final list of educators who successfully complete the course is submitted to an appointed Michigan administrator.
