This learning opportunity focuses on how to design instruction "backwards" and implement a variety of instructional models to elicit higher levels of student engagement. Through a collaborative and interactive session, participants will both consider and practice designing instruction with all of their learners in mind. We will dig into the importance of teacher clarity and how to design learning intentions and success criteria for our students, then design instruction around those learning targets.
Specific instructional design models to implement within the backwards design framework discussed in this training will include the four lenses of learning and the effective model of engagement. Using reading, writing, speaking, and listening activities throughout a learning experience deepen the connections to the learning targets and engage students in learning.
This session will take place at the ARIN office on Friday, September 16th, 2022 from 9:00am-3:00pm. The cost is $35 per person and lunch will be provided. Five Act 48 hours will be awarded for participants at the conclusion of the training.
