STEM for All: Inclusive Strategies for Special Education

STEM education opens doors to exploration, problem-solving, and innovation - but how can we ensure students with disabilities are fully included in the experience? STEM for All: Inclusive Strategies for Special Education is a dynamic training designed to help educators adapt and deliver meaningful science, technology, engineering, and math instructions to meet the needs of diverse learners. This session will provide hands-on strategies, tools, and planning ideas to help all students - regardless of ability - engage with and succeed in STEM activities. This session will be offered on March 13, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at ARIN IU 28.

    Participants will be able to:

    • Identify barriers to STEM participation for students with disabilities and explore ways to remove them using inclusive practices.
    • Learn how to adapt STEM lessons using Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and assistive technology.
    • Discover strategies for designing hands-on, accessible STEM activities that promote collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.
    • Explore STEM products available in our lending library that can be utilized by all learners.
