Tools and Strategies for students with Reading and Writing Deficits: This training equips educators with practical tools and strategies to support students with reading and writing deficits through the use of various Assistive Technologies. Participants will learn to effectively utilize text-to-speech (TTS) for reading and reading comprehension and speech-to-text (STT) to aid written expression, fostering greater independence and literacy success. These tools and strategies will be explored on both iPads (iOS devices) and Chromebooks (Chrome browser/extensions). This is a hands-on session working through each tool, app, extension, etc.
Some devices will be provided but it is best if participants can bring their own laptop, iPad, and/ or Chromebook.
