CTE Instructional Strategies-Math Table Top Games (2025-2026)
|
This professional development session invites Monroe County ISD CTE educators to explore how intentional mathematical play and tabletop games can enhance critical thinking and student engagement within the CTE curriculum. Participants will engage in hands-on gameplay with a curated selection of games specifically aligned to various CTE clusters and math standards. In addition to exploring specific games, educators will learn strategies for classroom implementation focusing on how to integrate gameplay into their courses, model mathematical thinking, and facilitate reflections that bridge gameplay direction to industry-specific math standards. By bridging the gap between abstract concepts and practical application, teachers will learn strategies to foster a joyful learning environment that builds students' mathematical confidence and collaborative problem-solving skills. 2.5 SCECHs are available.
