EHS Professional Learning Community (PLC) (2025-2026) (Ongoing)
This professional development event brings together early childhood educators, home visitors, and support staff to engage in a sustained, collaborative Professional Learning Community (PLC) focused on improving outcomes for young children and families. Rooted in a shared commitment to continuous improvement, equity, and evidence-based practice, this learning experience is designed to strengthen instructional quality and family engagement across diverse program models, including Head Start, Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), and Early Head Start Home Visiting. The PLC will focus on aligning practices across settings using common frameworks such as the Pyramid Model for PBIS, PTR-YC, Creative Curriculum, and Teaching Strategies GOLD. Participants will engage in cycles of inquiry to examine teaching and home visiting practices, interpret child outcome data, and reflect on implementation of inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and culturally responsive strategies. Through structured dialogue, collaborative planning, and peer learning, participants will: Co-create shared goals centered on children’s social-emotional development, early learning outcomes, and family partnerships Analyze authentic data to inform instructional decisions and responsive caregiving Reflect on their own practice using tools such as the Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT/TPITOS) and fidelity checklists Strengthen cross-role collaboration and alignment between classroom-based and home-based services This PLC-based approach fosters a sense of shared accountability, professional trust, and collective efficacy. By participating in this community of practice, early childhood professionals will build capacity to navigate complex challenges, celebrate progress, and implement high-impact practices that support every child’s learning journey from classroom to home.
