The Eastern Upper Peninsula ISD invites secondary educators to participate in an in-depth, 6-hour professional development session designed to enhance social studies instruction through high-quality resources and proven instructional strategies. Offered in collaboration with the Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy at Wayne State University Law School, this training will feature resources from the center’s Learning by Hearings program, supporting the development of inquiry-driven, civically engaged, and literacy-rich classrooms.
The session will emphasize three core instructional pillars: inquiry-based learning, civic engagement, and disciplinary literacy.
