Lenawee County Reading Clinic (LCRC) Cohort 8

  • Event Information
Lenawee County Reading Clinic (LCRC) Cohort 8

Join Cohort 8 of the Lenawee County Reading Clinic (LCRC) — a proven professional learning experience designed to strengthen reading instruction and boost student outcomes. The LCRC is an advanced professional development program designed to bridge the gap between literacy theory and classroom mastery. Launched in 2021 by the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD), the LCRC provides a hands-on learning experience where educators and support staff refine their craft through explicit instruction and direct application.

This model allows participants to move immediately from professional learning to practice, focusing heavily on the foundational pillars of Phonemic Awareness and Phonics. By mastering evidence-based tools such as UFLI Foundations and Kilpatrick’s Equipped for Reading Success, participants gain the precision needed to deliver systematic, explicit instruction. While the primary training revolves around decoding and word recognition, the program also addresses how these foundations support Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Participants apply the principles of the Science of Reading through authentic practice by providing targeted tutoring to two students.

Set aside May 20th, 2027 as a make-up day incase of bad weather cancelation.

If you’re interested in participating in Cohort 8, please complete the application form using the link below. Once submitted, you’ll receive instructions for the next step in the application process.
