AAC Devices: Considerations for Trials, Funding, and Ownership

This
one-hour virtual session will build school team capacity to navigate the
process of obtaining and maintaining augmentative and alternative communication
(AAC) devices for students who need them. Participants will explore device loan
and trial programs, funding options, and considerations related to device
ownership, maintenance, and student transfers between districts. Pennsylvania
requirements related to the IEP team's responsibility for providing AAC and
assistive technology, FAPE, and the use of outside funding sources will be
highlighted throughout the session.
