K–12 AI Learning Network Kickoff Session

Penn State Behrend K-12 AI initiative leadership team, in support
of K–12 education, will provide
educators with a current, accessible understanding of generative AI and its
implications for K–12 teaching and learning. Building a professional learning
network by establishing a shared understanding of AI, focus on learning,
assessment, ethics, agency, equity, and educational purpose, listening to K–12
educators, forming Challenge Teams around authentic problems of practice,
introducing specialized topics, resources, answering questions like "what we
are seeing", problem solving, small-group/table, lighting talks, conversation and creating clear pathways for
continued participation. Following the in-person kickoff you will have the
opportunity to join virtual professional AL sessions throughout the year to
learn more about AI. * Note: Penn State Behrend in collaboration with IU5, will
offer five AI learning sessions spread across the school year, giving educators
flexible opportunities to participate in all topics. Educators are welcome to
register for any of the five sessions regardless of which ones they attend.
