    26 SMI The Joyful Teacher: Cultivating Growth, Agency, and Joy in Every Classroom
    Grounded in  Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, this workshop mirrors an agentic classroom environment. Using Berit Gordon’s text The Joyful Teacher, educators engage in a flexible book walk, complete diagnostic self-assessments, select one of 11 targeted instructional goals, and design a self-paced action plan featuring Tier I instructional strategies.

    Teachers of St. Mary Interparochial
    Learner Outcomes

    Analyze Instructional Practice: Utilize diagnostic self-assessment tools to pinpoint specific areas for professional growth within Tier I instruction.

     Apply UDL Frameworks: Design an immediate, actionable instructional strategy that incorporates multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression to support diverse learners.

     Formulate a Self-Paced PD Plan: Construct a personalized roadmap featuring concrete implementation steps, peer feedback integration, and progress-monitoring metrics.

     Evaluate Impact on Student Learning: Establish customized self-assessment criteria to determine when instructional changes have successfully "moved the needle" on student performance.
