HIV/STI Prevention & Sex Education Framework

This is a workshop to learn best practices in instruction, curriculum selection, & laws around reproductive health education and HIV prevention education in Michigan. The workshop covers updates around HIV and other STIs. At this workshop, Michigan Model for Health HIV and Reproductive Health lessons are disseminated. Per the law, any teacher teaching HIV must go through this training prior to instruction. It is also strongly suggested that anyone teaching Sex Ed or HIV attend this training once every 5 years. This training is applicable for HIV prevention educators, puberty, or sex-educators teaching grades 7-12. Please Note: Locations for this event vary by date:
- August 18, 2022: In-person at the Eastern Upper Peninsula ISD in Sault Ste Marie, MI (Virtual attendance available)
- February 23, 2023: In-person at the Cheboygan-Otsego-Presque Isle ESD in Indian River, MI (Virtual attendance available).
Lunch will be provided to those who register 24 hours prior. Five (5) SCECHs available.
