The Social Studies Teacher Leader Corps consists of K-12 social studies teacher leaders from school districts throughout the Eastern Upper Peninsula. Working sessions include alignment between K-6 Social Studies and English Language Arts standards, Updating Common Assessments, and Developing professional learning opportunities for teachers in the Eastern Upper Peninsula ISD service area. Educators also have the opportunity to request and share resources.
What is the Social Studies Teacher Leader Corps? SSTLC is a group of educated and passionate teachers who are dedicated to training, supporting, and sustaining high quality social studies instruction. We are focused on supporting teachers in guiding students towards effective citizenship.
Our Best Hope (Vision): Our vision is to empower teachers in recognizing the importance of regularly-scheduled social studies instruction in an effort to enable students to learn grade-level content as well as become members of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.
