ATOMS Recharged Scholars Program - 2020

The ATOMS Recharged Scholars Program is a hands-on, in-depth STEM oriented summer program which focuses courses that incorporate the use of equipment funded by the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and UPMC. These high-tech tools encourage critical thinking and problem solving strategies that give students a hand-on, advanced level, intensive STEM experience.

Locations for the 2020 events are:

ATOMS Mini: 3 full-days 8:30 am – 2:45 pm

Windber Area Middle/High School (Windber, PA) - June 10 - 12

Chestnut Ridge Middle School (Fishertown, PA) - June 10 - 12

Somerset Area Jr/Sr High School (Somerset, PA) - June 23 - 25

Bellwood-Antis Middle/High School (Bellwood, PA) June 29 - July 1

Northern Cambria Elementary/Middle School (Northern Cambria, PA) July 21 - 23

ATOMS Basic:  5 full-days 8:30 – 2:45

Bedford Area Middle School (Bedford, PA) June 15 - 19

Hollidaysburg Area Sr High School (Hollidaysburg, PA) - June 15 - 19 

Rockwood Area Jr/Sr High School (Rockwood, PA) - June 22 - 26

Penn Cambria Middle School (Gallitzin, PA) - July 6 - 10

Westmont Hilltop High School (Johnstown, PA) - July 6 - 10

Blacklick Valley Jr/Sr. High School (Nanty-Glo, PA) July 13 - 17

FULL Refund - (100%) will be issued if this event is cancelled by the IU due to low enrollment.

FULL Refund - (100% minus $10 service charge) will be issued if the participant cancels at least 14 days prior to the start of the event.

No Refund - No refund will be issued for cancellations by the participant with LESS than 14 days notice of the start of the event or if the participant simply does not attend.





Target Audience
Second through eighth grade students (from 2019/2020 SY) with high aptitude or interest in STEM
No Sessions available for registration.
