Event Details

A Day for Art Teachers

Teachers will be introduced to a modified choice-based art teaching method called "Choose Your Artventure".  After the lecture part of the presentation, there will be a hands-on component. Then we will have a gallery tour at Crooked Tree Arts Center. Finally, our day will conclude with art teacher round-table discussions.

Teachers Kdg- grade 12, administrators and paraprofessionals

Learner Outcomes

Participants will

  • learn about several simple ways to increase student engagement
  • learn a few new art techniques
  • gain insight for aligning art lessons to the National Core Arts Standards for Visual Art

State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs)

Pending approval, SCECHs will be available for this training. Information will be provided at the workshop.

 

Substitute Reimbursement

Reimbursement for a substitute will be provided for all teachers from districts within the Char-Em ISD service area who indicate yes for sub reimbursement during registration.


Registration for staff outside of Char-Em ISD service area
Non Char-Em ISD teachers will be charged a $25 fee payable to Crooked Tree Art Center due the day of the workshop.
