Event Details

Special Education Collaborative 2019-20

(This is a five day series. Participants are asked to register separately for each session they are available to attend.)


This Special Education Collaborative offering will provide a time for special education teachers, itinerant staff members and others to engage in learning related to special education best practices. Each session will include professional learning, reflection upon practice integration, and collaboration with colleagues from across Char-Em ISD.

Target Audience

  All teachers grade K–12 and ISD staff from Char-Em ISD service area


Learner Outcomes

Participants will learn about

  • high-leverage practices in special education.
  • effective methods of responding to challenging behavior.
  • specially designed instruction.
  • co-teaching.
  • elements of a well-written IEP.
  • data collection and progress monitoring.

State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs)

Pending approval, SCECHs will be available for this training. Information will be provided at the workshop.



Substitute Reimbursement

Reimbursement for a substitute will be provided for all teachers from districts within the Char-Em ISD service area who indicate yes for sub reimbursement during registration.



Registration for staff outside of Char-Em ISD service area
Based on space availability, there will be a registration fee of $75 for any participants from outside Char-Em ISD service area. Payments should be made to Charlevoix-Emmet ISD and sent to Charlevoix-Emmet ISD, 08568 Mercer Blvd, Charlevoix, MI 49720.
