Event Details

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) at Work in the Classroom

Improving student behavior is not rocket science. It is behavior science! This series will provide participants with a deep knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a research-based practice that produces practical and socially significant changes in student behavior. Participants will learn to implement customized interventions to support student skill development and behavior regulation in the school environment. The class will have both face-to-face instruction and online learning.

Fall 2019 session

Day 1 at Emmet County EMS Building, 1201 Eppler Road, Petoskey

Days 2 - 7 at Char-Em ISD, Charlevoix

Winter 2020 session

Days 1-8 at Char-Em ISD, Charlevoix

 

Target Audience

  Teachers pre-K through grade 8, paraprofessionals (ideally, teams of teacher and

  paraprofessionals) support staff, community partners/agencies

  

Learner Outcomes

Participants will

  • learn and use ABA principles to address concerns with a focus student.
  • increase skills to collect, record, graph, and report behavior responses.
  • implement teaching procedures for student skill acquisition and behavior reduction. 

 

State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs)
Pending approval, SCECHs will be available for this training. Information will be provided at the workshop.

Substitute Reimbursement

Reimbursement for a substitute will be provided for all teachers from districts within the Char-Em ISD service area who indicate yes for sub reimbursement during registration.

 

Registration for staff outside of Char-Em ISD service area
Based on space availability, there will be a registration fee of $75 for any participants from outside Char-Em ISD service area. Payment is due upon receipt of registration confirmation. Payments should be made to Charlevoix-Emmet ISD and sent to Charlevoix-Emmet ISD, 08568 Mercer Blvd, Charlevoix, MI 49720.
