Orton-Gillingham (OG) is a highly structured, multisensory approach to teaching literacy that was pioneered in the 1930s by Dr. Samuel T. Orton and Anna Gillingham. Originally designed for students with dyslexia, it has become a cornerstone of Structured Literacy and is used today in general education to help all students master reading, writing, and spelling.
