*Student Engagement in Mathematics 17/18-402 01/30

Do your students struggle with connecting math class with their lives? Are you wondering how to reach your reluctant learners? How might you structure your math class to support students' mathematical identity development and increase access to the mathematics for all students?

This session will focus on developing students' agency, authority, and identity as mathematicians through routines, structures, and high cognitive demand tasks. You will experience, plan, implement, and reflect on specific instructional strategies that are designed to increase access to mathematical content for all students.

Note: This session will building on concepts explored in the Planning and Supporting Productive Math talk.
