The Student Risk Screening Scale (SRSS) is a universal screening tool used three times a year to identify students who are at risk for challenging behaviors. Educators use the data to design supports needed for students to be academically successful in school. This screening tool consists of seven (secondary) to twelve (elementary) items that teachers use to rate their classroom of students based on the teacher’s current knowledge with clear evidence of each individual student’s behavior.

What is a SRSS Coordinator's Role?
A district SRSS Coordinator is someone with deep knowledge of the SRSS in order to effectively:

  • Help other staff understand how the SRSS is used within an integrated MTSS model and develop readiness to use the SRSS

  • Train staff on how to collect and use SRSS data

  • Ensure systems are established and maintained for accurate and timely data collection and analysis

This training will ensure that new SRSS Coordinators are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and skills necessary to begin supporting the use of SRSS.

Target Audience

This training is designed for individuals who will be supporting schools in their use of the Student Risk Screening Scale. Schools are asked to conduct universal screening using the SRSS coming off of the MIBLSI Tier 2 Behavior Supports Training. Previous participants have found it helpful to attend with a partner from their district or ISD to make the most of the planning time that is available in the training.

No Sessions available for registration.
