Next Level CTE

A workshop meant JUST for CTE teams!

Day 1:  Next Level CTE Teaching-- “Make Classroom Learning as Exciting & Engaging as the Lab!”

·         Practice 6 instructional approaches that bring key attributes of lab learning to the classroom.  Learn how to make classroom learning as engaging as the lab.

·         Build an understanding that every teacher can improve reading comprehension/literacy skills to improve student achievement on certification and ECA testing.

·         Experience different ways to embed technology into classroom instruction that fits multiple program areas—and engage all learners.

·         Learn classroom and lesson designs deliberately intended to close the gap between your lower-level and higher-level readers within the same class.

·         Aligning content to certification tests and ECAs is not enough. Learn how to align the RIGOR of the test questions. We will share data on how rewriting formative and summative test questions can transform student critical thinking skills and test taking performance.

Day 2:  Next Level Certification Test Preparation—

·         Spend time examining your own course practice assessment questions with us, compare them to your current assessments, and rewrite samples together during the workshop for next year.

·         Receive sample certification test questions for several program areas.

·         Experience cyclical “test prep” lesson designs that really work to actively prepare your students for success with certification passing (includes video & lesson plan designs for multiple program areas).

·          Examine how CSTOs & Internship Models can add to classroom learning and serve as an ultimate form of differentiation—including a panel discussion from regional professionals

Registration includes book “But I’m NOT a Reading Teacher-Literacy Strategies for CTE Teachers”
