Structured Literacy Trainer of Trainers

Are you looking to provide structured Literacy training to your staff to meet the Chapter 49 requirements? The 2-day training is designed to help the district-appointed trainers to deliver Structured Literacy training to their staff.  Participants who complete the 2-day training will leave with a Structured Language trainer tool kit to redeliver the training to their district. 

A training-the-trainer (TOT) course on structured literacy is designed to equip educators and trainers with the skills and knowledge necessary to teach structured literacy effectively. Structured literacy is a systematic approach to teaching reading that focuses on the fundamental components of language, including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. This training program is aimed at trainers who want to become experts in structured literacy and be able to train others on how to teach reading using this approach.

The Structured Literacy training meets the Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements under the Chapter 49 mandate.

Must attend both days

 Credit: 12 hrs. (Act 48)

Cost: None

Lunch Arrangements:
Please note that lunch will not be provided as part of the course. Participants have the flexibility to bring their own meals, with access to microwaves and a refrigerator available onsite for your convenience. This arrangement allows you to cater to your dietary preferences and needs during the training session.

The training is intended for district-appointed trainers for Structured Literacy.
Learner Outcomes
  • Understand what structured literacy is and its components.
  • Identify instructional strategies that support structured literacy instruction.
  • Ask questions about current practices being used and whether or not they are in line with a structured literacy approach
