6723 Overcoming Trauma: Understanding Brain Science, ACEs, and Our Role
Research demonstrates how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) affect the health and development of children and adults. The effects of this trauma impact academic success and can influence the climate of our schools. Educators have a unique opportunity to help students and families overcome the effects of trauma by building resilience. (Resilience is the ability to thrive, adapt and cope despite tough and stressful times.)
