5986 Reaching & Teaching Students in Poverty

Participants will explore the knowledge, skills, and strategies critical to addressing the unique instructional needs of students in poverty. Teachers are increasingly challenged to help students of poverty reach their achievement goal. During the interactive sessions, participants will:
~Understand what poverty is and explore the impact it has on students, families, and communities. Address mindsets held around poverty and those affected by it.                                     ~Understand a framework for working with students impacted by poverty to ensure high levels of learning.                                                                                                                                                               ~Understand the various approaches of working with students impacted by poverty.                         ~Examine and utilize classroom and building level strategies for effectively working with students impacted by poverty.                                                                                                                     Registration fee included additional materials, refreshments and the book. Come join us as we explore this topic together. Participants can register for Cohort 1 or 2 or both.
