The Health Education Standards Guidelines were updated in November 2025. This series will help teachers undergo a comprehensive look at the 2025 Michigan Health Education Standards Guidelines. Each date will have a different focus area related to the standards:
Session 1: Unpacking the 2025 Health Standards, with a focus on standards required by law, Michigan laws on health education, and changes to standards.
Session 2: Preparing to Make Changes to your health curriculum. This session will focus on the Community and Environmental Health standards, as well as a unit of the participants' choice.
Session 3: Implementation of Changes with reflection and feedback from peers. Participants will make a plan for their district's needs for health education.
This series will be offered twice: once in-person in the Fall, and once virtually in the Spring. The in-person location for the fall sessions is the COP ESD offices in Indian River, MI. Lunch is provided for participants who register 24 hours in advance. Mileage reimbursement is available.
