COOR: K-12 Health & PE Community of Practice 26-27

The COOR Health & Physical Educator Community of Practice is open to K-12 health & physical educators in the Crawford, Ogemaw, Oscoda, & Roscommon ISD service area. Educators will work to identify their priority areas for the year, receive national/state updates, engage with resources for their subject area, and share successes and challenges at a regional capacity. Educators will identify areas of need in health education by examining student wellness data.

The PE/Health community of practice is committed to improving student achievement, providing leadership, professional development, and research-based information aligned to the Michigan Curriculum Frameworks for teachers. Lunch is provided for participants who register 24 hours in advance. Mileage reimbursement is available. Contact Helen Craig with questions about this event - hcraig-isd@eupschools.org

Target Audience
K-12 Health Teachers, K-12 PE Teachers
Learner Outcomes
-Connection: creating rich opportunities for participants in the Community of Practice to make meaningful and sustained connections.
-Purposeful Practice: The group provides tangible ways to take insights and put them into practice both in the group and in daily classroom instruction, using the group to share and reflect on learning and refine practice.
-Relevant Learning: Topics brought to the group are relevant and useful for daily application in the classroom, and speak to individual interests and real challenges faced by leaders and practitioners.
-Sharing and Reflection: Participants will share personal stories about what is and is not working and reflect on their learning with feedback from other participants.
