Event Details

 Join PAEE and the Northcentral ELIT Hub for a collaborative, hands-on professional development experience at the Tiadaghton Resource Management Center on March 20th. This event offers a valuable opportunity to network with fellow educators while gaining new skills and ideas for bringing nature into your teaching.

We’ll start out with an interactive networking session followed by an overview of Tiadaghton State Forest’s environmental education initiatives. In addition, you’ll experience an inquiry-based field experience aligned with STEELS standards.

Formal and informal educators of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend this free event.

Lunch will be provided and Act 48 hours are available.

Participation in this workshop will help me develop and refine several key professional competencies:
Inquiry-based instructional design: Experiencing a field investigation aligned with STEELS standards strengthens my ability to design and facilitate student-centered, inquiry-driven learning.

Environmental and place-based education practices: Learning directly from Tiadaghton State Forest educators expands my content knowledge and instructional strategies for integrating local ecosystems into teaching.

Professional collaboration and networking: Engaging with formal and informal educators builds my professional learning community and supports ongoing growth.Curriculum alignment with STEELS standards: The workshop provides concrete examples of how to embed standards-based environmental learning into existing units.

Experiential learning facilitation: Participating in hands-on outdoor activities enhances my ability to guide students through meaningful, real-world learning experiences.
