AC 2026: Supporting Students: Practical Strategies

The professional development will provide educators with practical strategies for
recognizing signs that a
student may be struggling and opening supportive conversations with
students. Taylor Moran will address
these topics through Prevention Academy.
Anthony Dunn will engage teachers in creating their own scenes and exploring the
advantages and disadvantages of both
types, along with examples. The session will also include updates on Gemini Notebook to provide
educators with additional tools and strategies to support teaching and learning

The professional development will address the needs of participants across content areas by providing practical strategies and tools that educators can incorporate into their daily interactions with
students and classroom instruction. The sessions will incorporate adult learning
principles by connecting new information to participants' existing
experiences, providing opportunities for active participation and application, and allowing educators to
engage with authentic examples and scenarios. Participants
will reflect on their current
practices, develop strategies for supporting students, and apply technology tools to their instructional practice.
