This event is open to AT Consultants from Intermediate Units, and LEAs, and Project MAX team members, by invitation only.
From the very start, writing is an unquestioned component of literacy development for typically-developing children. Due to environmental and physical challenges, it can be difficult to prioritize writing for students with significant disabilities. This training will focus on getting writing ON the radar by introducing a variety of writing tools and meaningful strategies to support student success, such as alternative pencils, augmentative and alternative communication devices, and writing apps. Sample goals and assessment strategies for writing will be included, as well as ideas for connecting reading and writing in meaningful ways.
