The Family Engagement Webinar Series will serve as a venue for educational consultants from the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) and Local Educational Agency (LEA) administrators and staff to share effective practices and strategies to engage families in support of student success. This webinar series is designed for school administrators, teachers, and others interested in learning how Pennsylvania educators are engaging families in an effort to effect student learning.
When students are responsible for sharing their progress, challenges and achievements with their families, conferences and meetings take on new meaning. During this webinar, members of an LEA along with PaTTAN educational consultants will share their experiences and the impact student-involved conferences and school activities have on family-school partnerships. Engaging families in supporting their students´ learning is bolstered when students are active in their education and planning for the future.
Behavioral challenges are not limited to the school setting. Therefore, engaging families as active members of the school team to review data and provide input regarding the implementation of positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) enhances the LEA’s efforts in partnering with families. During this webinar, PaTTAN consultants will discuss considerations and strategies for collaborating with families as members of the PBIS core team and ways their collective perspectives and knowledge base can jointly best serve students and targeted PBIS interventions.
