Description: This work includes participating in a 1 hour webinar covering the topic and 2 hours completing a job-embedded task

Currently, much of school is spent focusing on ELA and mathematics, which is important, but our students need more. In this webinar series, we will explore how to remix ELA and mathematics lessons into Something Better by engaging students with activities that are enhanced with computational thinking (CT) skills, such as decomposition and pattern recognition, that can be utilized in all subjects.

Special Instructions

We will be using a crosswalk to investigate examples of ELA’s connections to computational thinking,  curriculum connections from Michigan K-12 Computer Science Standards for the 3-5 and 6-8 webinars.

Middle school learners are ready to apply their knowledge and skills within real world scenarios. Discover how ELA and math standards are reinforced as students investigate various ways that technology can improve our everyday lives. Challenge your students to identify a problem and use digital tools to develop creative solutions. Find out how you can use computational thinking across the content areas and expand as they explore basic computer science principles in this webinar.
