|
|
This training provides participants with an overview of START’s Communication and Visual Supports framework, focusing on strategies that enhance understanding, expression, engagement, and independence for students with autism and other communication needs. Participants will learn how to assess communication supports, select and implement a variety of visual supports, and embed these tools across classroom routines, instruction, and social interactions. The session will also explore how to utilize technology, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools and other digital supports, to enhance communication, increase access to learning, and promote student participation. Emphasis is placed on practical applications that reduce barriers to learning and support successful communication throughout the school day.
