Initial CPI Training (2025-2026)
|
|
Staff will learn decision-making skills to match the level of the response to the risk of the crisis, focusing on the least-restrictive response to ensure the care, welfare, safety, and security of those in their care. This training includes recognizing the stages of an escalating crisis and learning evidence-based techniques to appropriately de-escalate. NCI training emphasizes physical interventions as a last resort and appropriate level of risk. Staff who are new to NCI/CPI or those who have had their training lapse are required to complete both days 1 and 2 in order to be considered fully certified.
